Does anyone know who Atus is? That’s A-tus for those needing help with pronunciation! All of a sudden my mom seems to think that I have an imaginary friend by the name of Atus, and for reasons unknown to me, she doesn’t seem to care for Atus at all!
Her strange behaviour began on our way home from Salt Lake City. Everything was going great, and I was snuggled up in the back seat, minding my own business and thinking about all of the pawsome pet bloggers and pet industry folks that I met at BlogPaws. I was also thinking about how excited I was to get home and roll in the grass with my friends when out of the blue my mom started telling me it was over for Atus and me! “Who?” Her exact words were, and I’m not kidding, “Hi Atus is over!” “What?” She was rambling on and on, and my eyes were glazed over from sheer exhaustion, but I gave her one of those head tilts just to let her know that I was paying attention.
She continued to tell Atus that it was time for me, the Zoester, to buckle down and get back to my blog! She said that Atus had gone on long enough, and I should be writing more. She also said that because of Atus, I had gotten somewhat lazy! “Huh?” At this point I was thinking that I should remind her about all of the work that I do to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for canine cancer. I wanted to mention how I graciously wear glasses and hats and beautiful tutus to promote Love Adds Up for a Cure, but my razor sharp mind was dull, and she was relentless! My mom doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, but it was somewhere between Rock Springs, and Laramie, Wyoming, that I began to worry for Atus’ safety when she said for the umpteenth time that it was over for Atus and me.
Well don’t tell her this, but I’m thinking that something kind of crazy happened to her while we were at BlogPaws, because she continued this strange conversation off and on for our entire eight hour trip home, while poor Atus hid from her never saying a word!
So for now, until I know exactly what’s going on, I’m going to start writing again! In my mom’s words, and for Atus’ sake, “HiAtus is over, and it’s back to my blog!”
