Today would have been your 5th chemotherapy treatment.
We left bright and early, just like always. I had all of your blood work done yesterday. Something I found helps as it’s one less thing you have to be subjected to on treatment day. It also saves us about an hour or so at CSU.
As usual I watch as you pad down the hallway and are led through the doors before I turn and walk away. The treatment is about 90 minutes so my dad, who has accompanied us today, and I head to breakfast.
We arrive back an hour later and I check in at the desk so they can let the doctor know that we are back. I don’t want Cain to have to wait any longer than he has to and he should be ready at any moment.
We wait a long time.
