It’s now been a couple of days since I was given the news about my buddy and we make another visit to Deer Creek today for an ultra sound. A new test for Cain, for all of the tests in the past, one he has never had. It’s determined that the mass (tumor) is primary and did not originate from any other organs. Finally some good news, or so I think.
Primary lung tumors are rare in dogs and most often metastasize from some other location in the body. It is good news that no other organs have been affected, but bad news that the tumor is in his lung, one of the hardest area to treat.
I’m numbed by the news and find it more pleasant to take Cain for a walk along one of our favorite trails on the way home. I can’t let his day end with a doctor’s visit!
